You know we’re in a mobile world right? You realize it’s probably only another 5 years before Skynet comes active and the War of the Machines starts right?

Oh relax! The Mayan Calendar predicts will be toast before then anyway.

I’m sometimes surprised at how many large retailers don’t view connectivity as an important part (or at the very least growing part) of their shopper experience. I’ve been to large stores where I can’t dial out to ask my wife what EXACTLY the right diaper size is or if she REALLY needs that extra protection. (Too much? Maybe a little much…).

I don’t get this. I can’t text, nor even jump on my Social Media channels to either ask for a review on a product or let my followers know about a great deal on a product! Why? So much money is spent on marketing that product why are you limiting the opportunity for the sale at the point of sale?

How many QR codes have I seen that when used go…nowhere. Because I have no cell signal.

Really?

Here’s “my ask” for large retailers.

Invest in cell phone repeaters or provide a free secure Wireless network for your shoppers to use. You might be surprise how much value it can add to the shopper experience. And how much easier it is to do today.

Heck, even if it means the kids can watch a YouTube video of Dora while I shop to keep them entertained! (Yes…I am THAT father!).

Don’t know how? There’s a LOT of great people online that can help you with this. Use your Social Media channels. Another idea…Google is still your friend.

If you like being reminded that “your call is important to us,” and being asked to “press 1 for english,” then you won’t like this app. For the rest of you… it’s the ultimate time-saver.
